The School has entered the BT Scientist & Technology Exhibition, which will be running remotely in January. Out of over 2000 applications, 6 of our groups were chosen to compete in the final in January 2021. These are:
i) Aoibheann Kearins in senior Sociology with a project on Glossophobia (fear of public speaking)
ii) Ella Rose Feeney, Bronagh McGee & Aoife Connolly in senior Technology with a project on handsfree hand sanitation connected to door entry systems
iii) Ella Joyce & Ava Pastor in intermediate Technology with a project on a tailored alarm system with additional guidance
iv) Cianna Ruddy & Zoe Melvin in intermediate Chemistry with a project on a new transdermal delivery system
v) Amy Jordan, Zoe Parkinson & Laura Coyle in intermediate Technology with a medication reminder app and device
vi) Orla Devlin, Aoibhinn Maher & Ciara Toolin in intermediate Sociology working on a study of anti-vaccine attitudes and origins
All of these BT groups are currently working away, in order to submit virtual project books, poster and videos prior to January.
The school is very grateful for the help Abbotts gives us annually in terms of support and sponsorship which makes it possible for these students to partake in these experiences.
