Congratulations to Caoimhe Sweeney who came third in the Japanese speech contest secondary school 6th year category held in U.C.D. on the 4th March. Lea McCarthy also competed and spoke very well. The topic which both students chose was ‘My Dream’. Both girls originally qualified by submitting a recorded speech to the Japanese language Teachers of Ireland.

The girls went on to compete against ten other Japanese language students from all around Ireland.

The National Japanese Speech Contest was jointly hosted by the Japanese Language teachers of Ireland and the Japanese Embassy. A wonderful achievement girls!
