This year due to Covid 19 Scifest went online. Each project had to submit their project book, poster and a 2 minute video. Ursuline College achieved the following category awards:

3rd Senior Life Science: Fatma Dogan
3rd Intermediate Technology: Aoife Connolly, Bronagh McGee, Ella Rose Feeney
3rd Intermediate Physics: Niamh Brogan, Maeve Bigwood, Katrin Kostadinova
Special Awards:
“Specsavers Making a Difference” Award: Orla Dee, Blaithín O’ Boyle, Chloe Cawley
“Boston Scientific Medical Devices” Award: Ellen Woodward
“Institute of Physics” Award: Ella McDaid, Niamh Carolan, Líle Hensey
(The Specsavers and Boston Scientific Awards allow the groups to submit their projects to a team of judges and a small number will be chosen to take part in these respective grand awards at the National Finals)
Finally, we also won the overall 1st prize (“Science Foundation Ireland Best Project Award”) and the group now go forward to represent Sligo at the National Finals in November 2020 These were:

Overall, we received 12 awards and won 3 special awards and the overall regional 1st prize.
Well done to all entrants and particularly to those students who won awards. A Fantastic achievement and the school are very proud of them. A big thank you to Mr Carolan for all his help and guidance.
